Previously, I worked in English Linguistics at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, where I obtained my PhD and my Habilitation. I was interim professor of Computational Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück and of English Linguistics (synchronic and diachronic) at the University of Leipzig.
My main research interests are in the areas of cognitive linguistics, esp. Construction Grammar, collo-phenomena (collocation, collostruction), computational and corpus linguistics, and lexicography. I have a particular interest in using very large multimodal datasets, data science methods and Machine Learning for my research, and also in creating relevant research infrastructures and open datasets. Feel free to browse the relevant pages for more information on my activities.
